James Taylor, Men's Basketball

Sophomore James Taylor led the Chapman University men’s basketball team to a pair of wins to start the season last week. Taylor began the year with a 17-point, eight-rebound performance to lead Chapman to a dominating 102-66 win over La Sierra. The forward from Laguna Beach, Calif., followed it up with a strong nine-point, five-rebound game in the Panthers’ win over Willamette. He also was a defensive force inside with three blocks against the Bearcats as Chapman held the visitors to just 32 percent shooting on the night.

Taylor’s 13 points per game rank 10th in the SCIAC while his 6.5 rebounds per game rank seventh.
