Senior Jonathan Hernandez pitched a gem in the first game of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament to help the Panthers on the road to becoming the tournament champions. The righty tossed his first complete game of the season, allowing just one hit and striking out 10 batters for his third double-digit strikeout game of the season. Hernandez allowed one walk while the lineup scored seven runs to beat Cal Lutheran 7-0 to send the Panthers into the winner’s bracket.

Hernandez’s work on the mound in the tournament earned him the SCIAC Postseason Tournament Most Valuable Player. The San Mateo native moved to a perfect 6-0 on the season with the Friday afternoon victory. The Panthers then went on to win the next two games and were crowned the SCIAC Tournament Champions for the second year in a row.
