Jesse McMillan, Track & Field

Prior to the final day of the Redlands Last Chance Qualifier, Jesse McMillan sat a few spots outside of the top-22 in the pole vault. Later that day, the junior jumper hit a PR of 4.91 meters, also a school record, to clinch a spot in the NCAA DIII Track & Field National Championships.
Wyatt Thompson, Baseball

Wyatt powered the Panthers to a 10-0 shutout victory over Cal Lutheran after a heartbreaking loss on Friday. He struck out six in his seven inning complete game, ending off his regular season with a 5-3 record and a 2.75 ERA. Wyatt and baseball gear up for the SCIAC tournament this weekend.
Rose Malen, Softball

Rose was spectacular in the circle this past weekend for the Panthers earning two big wins to propel softball back into first place in the SCIAC. She allowed only one base runner, a single, in a 2-1 walk-off win over Whittier on Saturday. She recorded 12 strikeouts. She also pitched game three on Saturday, allowing four hits en route to the 9-3 victory.
Julia Bridges, Women's Water Polo

Julia Bridges finished a career-best season with another six goals and eight assists as the Panthers split a pair of matches to end the 2023 season. Bridges led the Panthers to a victory with three goals and six assists in the 16-8 win over Occidental. She ended her career with three goals and two assists at Pomona-Pitzer. Bridges scored 42 goals this season and assisted on another 42 – career-highs in both categories. She also had a career-best 11 drawn exclusions.
Caleb Wilkins, Men's Tennis

Caleb was clutch for the Panthers this week helping them pick up two points in a win over Cal Lutheran on Wednesday. Caleb helped in the first doubles match, 8-1, then followed with a 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 singles victory. Caleb also picked up one of Chapman's two points against Redlands cruising to a 6-3, 6-3 victory in straight sets.
Jessica Ricketts, Women's Lacrosse

Jessica was a key factor to both of the women's lacrosse SCIAC victories this week. She scored seven total goals including four goals, two key late scores to secure the 10-9 victory at Whittier. She followed it up with a three goal performance to beat Redlands on Saturday. She also grabbed 10 draw controls on the week.
Brooke Waite, Women's Tennis

Brooke Waite had a fantastic week as women's tennis continued its win streak, now up to six straight. Waite won all four of her doubles matches this week alongside teammate Olivia Desso. She also won all three of her singles matches, beating Oxy and Grinnell in the fourth position, and Cal Lutheran in the fifth. She came from behind to clinch the decisive fifth point over Oxy, losing the first set 6-2, coming back winning 6-4 then 7-6 winning the tiebreaker 7-4.
Simi Lauwers, Softball

Simi was exceptional in the circle for the Panthers over the weekend, earning both of the team's two wins. She pitched 5.1 innings against Oxy allowing no runs. She followed that up the next day with a complete game win over Whitworth where she struck out 10 Pirates.
Trent Turquand, Baseball

Trent had a great week at the plate for the Panthers going 4-for-10 and collecting two walk-off hits. The first came on Friday to take down Whittier via a line drive up the middle to clinch the run-ruled victory. He followed that up on Sunday with a walk-off single in the 10th against Middlebury.
Azriel Shakur, Track & Field

Azriel was fantastic at SCIAC one this past weekend. He broke the school record in the hammer throw, tossing it 43.02 meters, winning the event. He also won the discus at 44.27 meters — seven meters further than second place, breaking another school record.
Mei-Lani Ferreira, Women's Lacrosse

Mei-Lani and women's lacrosse are on a tear to start the season. She scored four goals and added three assists in the team's first SCIAC victory of the season in the conference opener over Redlands. Mei-Lani helped the high-powered offense tally 19 goals in the convincing victory.
Cole Kershner, Swimming & Diving

Cole had an impressive showing at the SCIAC Championships last week. He won the 50 free A-final to become the SCIAC Champion in the event. He's the second men's swimmer ever to earn the honors at Chapman. He also broke his own school record in that event as well as the school record for the 100 free, 100 fly and was a part of the record-breaking 200 free relay team.
Kasey Markell, Women's Water Polo
February 13, 2023
Kasey was on fire in women's water polo's home opener. She scored eight of the Panthers' 17 goals en route to a last second, 17-16 victory over Westcliff. Kasey started her scoring burst in the second quarter when she rattled off five goals, four unanswered, helping Chapman jump out to a 9-5 halftime lead. She kept it going in the second half with one goal straight out of the gates, and two huge goals in the fourth.
Cole Kershner, Swimming & Diving

Cole anchored the 400 free relay with the fastest split in the SCIAC this year and nearly brought the win for Chapman. He also helped the Panthers tally some points as he swept the individual sprint freestyle events. He won the 50 free with a 21.26 and captured the event victory in the 100 free with a 47.47.
Mason Fara, Track & Field

In his first race as a Panther, Fara ran a 48.89 in the 400m dash. He won the event by three seconds over the nearest competitor while also setting the Chapman record. The previous record was set in 2020 by Donovan Wilson when he ran a 49.23.
Zoe Zurasky, Women's Basketball
January 23, 2023
Zoe was a key contributor to women's basketball's victory over Caltech on Saturday. She scored 11 points off of the bench in only 17 minutes. She played a huge role in the Panthers' +12 point differential in the third quarter, netting eight points and splashing two of her three triples.
