Bio

Kurt Yacko was a regular in the lineup and a record-breaking closer on the mound. He was the 2007 Co-Division III Player of the Year and a two-time All-American. The .343 career hitter hit 18 homers and drove in 108 RBIs. His 1.22 ERA is still the lowest in Chapman history and his 26 career saves still stand as a career record. He helped Chapman to three consecutive Division III West Region titles and a third place finish at the Division III World Series in 2006. Yacko's 2008 season ended with a 0.59 ERA and 15 saves, which both rank in the top-10 all-time in Division III. He was drafted in the eighth round of the MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies in 2008 and reached as high as the Double-A level in the minor leagues.
