Bio
While a standout jumper for Chapman's track and field team in the late 50s, Brewer was also a three-sport star for the Panthers during his collegiate days. He was a member of the Chapman hoops program for three years and was part of the return of tennis to Chapman in 1957-58 after a six-year hiatus.
Brewer was best known, however, for his efforts on the track, qualifying for the NCAA Regionals in 1959 in the hop-step-jump, setting a school record and placing fourth in the event. He also competed in the pole vault and long jump events. As a senior in '60, he served as team captain and was awarded the Doner Trophy as the team's most valuable player.
