A leader from the minute she set foot on the Hutton Center floor, no other individual has had the impact that Cahill has had on Chapman volleyball. A two-year starter, team captain and MVP, Cahill was the Panthers' setter in 1985 when Chapman won 22 games and she was named to the All-CCAA team as a senior. That same year she became just third student-athlete in Chapman history named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team. In 1989 Cahill was named the Panthers' head coach where her legacy has spanned the decades, earning close to 400 wins in 24 seasons and 10 NCAA playoff appearances.
