Bio

Olivas played third base for the Panthers from 1989-92 and earned All-America honors twice while leading the nation in home runs in both her sophomore and junior years. Chapman, then competing at the Division II level, was 150-65 during her four years and won a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) title in 1991 when the Olivas-led Panthers won a school record 47 games (47-13 overall). In that same year, Olivas was named the most valuable player of the CCAA.

As a senior, Olivas crushed seven homers to give her an NCAA Division II record (at the time) 42 career round trippers. She batted .485 that season with 39 RBI and earned All-CCAA honors once again. She was named Chapman’s Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 1992.
