Bio
Scholl played for the Panther Nine from 1966-67, earning All-America both years and helping Chapman to the NCAA playoffs twice. In '66, he batted .434 with a school-record nine triples to lead the Panthers to the NCAA West Region championship. That season, Chapman was the No. 1-ranked team in the College Division (there was no College Division championship tournament) and was ranked No. 22 overall amongst all NCAA teams.
Scholl earned All-District and All-Conference honors twice and was named Chapman's Most Valuable Player as both a junior and a senior after batting .374 in 1967. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the '67 Major League Draft and spent one season in the Yankees farm system.
