Chapman athletes recognized on SCIAC All-Academic teams

ORANGE – Chapman University student-athletes were well-represented during the 2013-14 academic year as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named its All-Academic teams by sport. Leading the way for the Panthers was women’s soccer, which garnered a conference-best 14 honorees. The Chapman men’s golf program also led the SCIAC with five award-winners.

The Panthers’ women’s basketball (five), women’s water polo (six) and volleyball (six) programs placed second in the conference and Chapman football ranked third in the SCIAC with 14 players named to the All-Academic Team.

Criteria for each All-Academic Team varied by sport, but included a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 and sophomore academic standing or one year in residence at their institution.
