More postseason accolades for Chapman's ace

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University sophomore RHP Brian Rauh has been named to the NCAA Division III All-America first team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) for the second year in a row. He has also earned West Region Pitcher of the Year honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) for the second consecutive season.

Rauh finished second in the Division III Pitcher of the Year voting by the NCBWA – an award he won last year as a freshman – earning five of eight second place votes and placing behind Marietta College's Brian Gasser for the honor.

Also the ABCA's West Region Pitcher of the Year, Rauh earned All-America from the coaches after a season in which the sophomore led all of Division III and set a new Chapman record with 133 strikeouts and posted a perfect 11-0 mark with two shutouts and seven complete games. His 1.74 ERA ranked in the top-30 in Division III and he held opponents to a .175 batting average.

He becomes the fourth Chapman player to earn ABCA All-America first team honors twice in his career, joining Kurt Yacko (2007-08), Devin Drag (2006-07) and Buddy Klovstad (2005-06). Rauh is just the second Panther to be named West Region Pitcher of the Year multiple times by the NCBWA after Drag accomplished the feat in 2006-07.
