Weather alters Chapman sports schedule on Friday

ORANGE, Calif. - Friday's Southern California rainstorm has caused the postponement and cancellation of several events for Chapman University sports teams; most notably, the rematch of last year's West Region baseball championship between the Panthers and Linfield College (Ore.).

Chapman and Linfield, which were scheduled to open a four-game series on Friday night at Hart Park, have been postponed. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. The Panthers and Wildcats will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hart Park as originally scheduled.

The Chapman softball and men's tennis teams were also washed away on Friday. Men's tennis was scheduled to host Biola University at 2 p.m., but has been postponed with no makeup date announced yet. The Panthers' softball team will not makeup its scheduled road doubleheader against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
