Cook concludes career with All-American honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Tyler Cook ended his career with All-America Third Team honors from both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association. Cook landed his first All-American award and the Chapman University baseball team's first since 2014 with the selections.

The Panthers' third baseman from Tustin, Calif. is Chapman's 13th All-American from D3Baseball.com and first since Andrew Carbajal earned Honorable Mention in 2014. He is 21st Panther to earn a spot on the Rawlings/ABCA All-America teams and the first since Brian Rauh in 2012.

Cook is a three-time All-Region and two-time All-SCIAC selection. He ended his career with the third-highest batting average in Chapman's Division III history. He ranks fifth in homers, second in doubles and sixth in RBIs.

This season, Cook had the best season of his career. He hit .431, the second-highest single season average in Panther history, with eight homers. He scored a career-best 42 runs and drove in another career-best 39 RBIs.

Cook helped the Panthers to a second-place finish in the SCIAC and a 26-14 overall record this year. A consistent hitter throughout his career, Cook posted a career slash line of .379/.436/.600 (batting average/on-base percentage/slugging).
