Peck, Ogranovich selected as SCIAC Athletes of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – A couple of Panthers were selected as the SCIAC Athletes of the Week this afternoon. Junior pitcher Tyler Peck and freshman women's tennis player Alisa Ogranovich earned the awards after helping lead their teams to victories this week.

Peck continues to be lights-out on the mound for the Panthers. The right-hander led Chapman to a 9-0 victory over Williams on Saturday afternoon, striking out a career-high 12 batters in just six innings pitched. The Corte Madera, Calif. native gave up zero walks while only allowing three hits, helping the Panthers to their second shutout of the season.

Peck's 12 strikeouts was a new career-best for the pitcher and was the third start in a row that he struck out double-digit batters.

Ogranovich helped lead the women's tennis team to their first SCIAC victory with a win over Whittier. She and doubles partner freshman Vasilisa Trofimova won 8-2 on the No. 2 court to give Chapman a 2-1 advantage heading into the singles matches. Ogranovich took to the No. 1 court, beating her opponent 6-4, 6-3. The Aliso Viejo, Calif. native is 8-2 on the year in her singles matches and 3-0 on the No. 1 court. She helped lead the Panthers to their third consecutive win with the victory over Whittier.
