Peck is third Panther to win SCIAC Pitcher of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Tyler Peck completed a rotation sweep of SCIAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the Chapman University baseball team. Peck is the third Panther pitcher to earn the award, joining Friday starter Jonathan Hernandez and fellow Saturday starter Mason Collins.

Peck put together another outstanding outing against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and his second consecutive start with double digit strikeouts. He threw seven strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits. He struck out 10 Stags for his fourth double digit strikeout total of the season.

The senior from Corte Madera, Calif., retired the first 10 batters in order and sat down the Stags in order in five of the seven innings he pitched.

As a staff, the Panthers sat down 38 strikeout victims in the three-game series – the highest series total of the season. CMS, which came into the series hitting .309 as a team, managed just a .157 batting average last weekend.

The Panthers break from SCIAC play for a non-conference series at George Fox this weekend.
