Peck taken by Cardinals in 28th round

ORANGE, Calif. – Is anyone having a better week than All-American pitcher Tyler Peck? The St. Louis Cardinals drafted Peck in the 28th round of the 2019 MLB Draft less than 24 hours after the Chapman University baseball team won the national championship.

Peck led all of Division III and set the school record with 155 strikeouts this season. He was a First Team All-American selection by D3baseball.com and American Baseball Coaches Association and ended the season with an 8-4 record and a 2.22 ERA.

The graduated senior from Corte Madera, Calif., was the second Chapman draft pick in as many years and the 11th in Chapman's Division III history.

Peck picked up his eighth and final win in the first game of the NCAA Division III Championship Series, allowing three runs on six hits over seven strong innings.
