Zeisler honored on Academic All-District Team

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Henry Zeisler was having the best season of his career when the season came to a sudden end due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His increasing presence at the plate did not go unrecognized as he was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII Team.

The 2019 Division III College World Series Most Outstanding Player went on an absolute tear through the postseason and carried that momentum into 2020. He was hitting .480 through the first 15 games this season with five homers and 19 RBIs. Two of those home runs came in the same game when Zeisler smacked two grand slams in an 8-3 win at East Texas Baptist. He was getting on base at a .582 clip and slugging .940 through his first 50 at-bats.

The outfielder from Kentfield, Calif. is a .321 lifetime hitter at Chapman with 12 homer runs, 18 doubles, five triples and 54 RBIs. Last season, his two-homer game against Concordia (TX) helped propel the Panthers to a Super Regional sweep of the Tornadoes and hit .538 at the College World Series with five RBIs and 10 runs scored to lead the Panthers' national championship run.

The Business Administration major is also a team leader in the classroom with a 3.63 GPA. He is one of just two juniors to earn inclusion on the 11-player Academic All-District VIII Team. Since 1997, Chapman baseball student-athletes have secured 33 Academic All-District honors with eight of those turning into Academic All-America honors.

Zeisler became eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors with his selection to the All-District team. The Academic All-America team will be announced June 8-11.
