SCIAC recognizes 14 Panthers on All-Academic team
ORANGE, Calif. - In its first year of eligibility, the Chapman University football team had 14 players named to the SCIAC All-Academic team. The Panthers tied with Pomona-Pitzer Colleges for most players selected.
Panthers named to the SCIAC All-Academic Football Team:

CB Cameron Cutter LB David Belz DB Sean Davey
LB Michael Mehlhaff DL Mitchell Eby
DL Elliot Cooley OL Luke Sanborn
OL Andrew Gutierrez LB Clinton Stiles-Schmidt
RB Chad Milburn
Four Panthers who were named to the All-Academic team were also recognized as All-SCIAC for their outstanding performances on the gridiron:
Senior DT Kevin Anderson: The team captain led a defensive line that ranked second in the conference against the run.
Senior LB Michael Mehlhaff: The linebacker earned recognition in 2011 and '12 as a member of the Capital One Academic All-District VIII team and finished last season with a team-leading 71 tackles.
Senior CB Cameron Cutter: The cornerback contributed to the second ranked defense in the conference with five interceptions and 35 tackles.
Junior OL Justin LaLonde: The lineman led an offensive line that averaged just one sack allowed per game, ranking in the top 30 across the nation.
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was established in 1915 and is currently comprised of nine private colleges and universities in Southern California. The conference recognizes all players who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.4 on the All-Academic team.
