Chapman (3-1) vs. Occidental (3-1)
Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014
Ernie Chapman Stadium
7 p.m.

Game Notes:

• With each team 2-0 in conference play, Chapman and Occidental face off in a game that will keep the winner at the top of the SCIAC standings. The Panthers and Tigers finished the 2013 season in second and third place in the final-conference standings, respectively.

• The Panthers have been impressive on both sides of the ball this season. Chapman's high-powered offense is averaging a conference-leading 38.5 ppg, while the Panther defense is also first in the SCIAC in scoring defense allowing just 19.5 ppg.

• After setting Occidental's single season rushing record (1325 yds) last season as a freshman, RB Kwame Do is at it again, leading the conference with 117 ypg. Something will have to give however, as the conference's leading rusher faces off against the conference's leading rush defense, with the Panthers allowing just 115 ypg on the ground.

• The Panthers feel at home in the red zone, as their 95 percent efficiency ranks No. 7 in Division III. Chapman has scored on 20 of their 21 trips inside the 20-yard line, with touchdowns on 17 of those drives.

• In their first four games this season, Chapman has racked up 1061 yards on the ground (265.2 ypg), with the next closest SCIAC team Claremont-Mudd-Scripps with just 831 ypg. The Panther rush attack has totaled 14 touchdowns including a SCIAC-leading seven touchdowns from senior RB Jeremiah McKibbins.

• The Panthers and Tigers come in to Saturday's game with an 8-8 record in head-to-head match ups. Chapman has won three of the last four contests between the schools including a 35-16 road victory last season.
