Ezeakunne, Aikhionbare to play in National Bowl Game

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University football players Anthony Ezeakunne and Osayande Aikhionbare have been selected to participate in the 5th Annual National Bowl Game to be played at Sunday, Dec. 7 at  Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium in Miami, Florida on the campus of Florida International University.

The National Bowl Game is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from non-FBS schools.

Ezeakunne and Aikhionbare, both seniors on Chapman's SCIAC-championship team this season, will be among All-American and All Conference seniors from around the nation that travel from over 30 states representing over 400-plus Division II, III and NAIA schools.

A two-time All-SCIAC tight end, Ezeakunne finished the 2014 season with 12 catches for 122 yards and one touchdown while helping the offensive line to a SCIAC-leading 256.6 rush yards per game and 38.6 points per game. Meanwhile, the cornerback Aikhionbare shook off an injury that caused him to miss three games and still finished second on the Panthers with 48 tackles (32 solo) and made one interception. He was an All-SCIAC selection in 2013.

Both players have been named to the "Red Nation" roster for Sunday's game and are the only two players from any SCIAC schools selected to participate.
