McKibbins Honored As SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week

ORNAGE, Calif. – Senior Jeremiah McKibbins' record-breaking game has earned Chapman's star running back SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors. McKibbins continued to rewrite the Chapman record book on Saturday with the biggest game of his career and led the panthers to a 49-21 win.

The senior from Inglewood, Calif. rushed for a single game school record of 265 yards on just 22 tries. He averaged 12 yards per carry while breaking loose for six rushes of 20 yards or more, including a 62-yard run that took the Panthers from deep in their own territory into the red zone.

McKibbins found the end zone three times, extending his school record for career rushing touchdowns to 36. He set a Chapman career record with his fourth career 200-yard game and tied another with his 12th 100-yard game.

He did it all against a Cal Lutheran defense that had not allowed more than 27 points in a single game this season and gave up less than 110 rushing yards per game on average. McKibbins now owns eight different school rushing records with three games still to go in his storied career.

This is the fourth career SCIAC weekly honor for McKibbins, who previously won the award once in 2012 and twice in 2014.
