GAME NOTES: 

WE MEET AGAIN

• Chapman and Linfield open the season with each other for the third year in a row. Linfield has won all three meetings plus a postseason meeting in 2014.
•  Linfield is coming off another title season in which it won the Northwest Conference crown. The Wildcats made it to the national semifinals but fell to St. Thomas.

TIME TO RELOAD

• The Panther offense will look to reload after graduating a number of solid players. The Panthers' offense scored 37 touchdowns in 2015 with just two of those scored by 2016 returners. Both Devin Kelly and Diano Pachote hauled in TD catches last year.
• Chapman will see a a familiar face running the offense with junior Mac Vail starting under center. Vail completed over 60 percent of his passes for 670 yards and seven TDs in five games last year.• Chapman had five (three on offense and two on defense) All-SCIAC players last year - all of which graduated. 

AN EXPERIENCED DEFENSIVE GROUP

• The defense lost its fair share of returners but has a solid core of returners in 2016. Lorenzo Marks and Devin Ray were two of the top-4 leading tacklers a year ago and return for their senior seasons.
• The linebackers may be the most experienced group on the field with Ray returning alongside Eddie Lee Favors , Miles Ahles and Ben Wadors. Dominic Luca also returns up front but two new starters will fill the vacated cornerback positions.

WEINSTEIN CHANGES SIDES

• A dynamic return man in 2015, Ethan Weinstein will have a chance to make more plays with the ball in his hands as he makes the move to wide receiver. 
• Weinstein returned an interception and kickoff for a touchdown last year and had three punt returns for over 30 yards.
