• The Chapman University football team returns home on Saturday, looking to rebound from a 31-13 road loss at Redlands. The Panthers are 1-1 at home this year.

• The Panthers are facing off against the University of La Verne, who is 1-4 overall and 1-2 in conference. The last time these two teams faced off, La Verne won 49-42. Chapman is 9-11 overall against La Verne in program history.

• The Leopards are coming off a big 57-56 homecoming win against Occidental. Senior quarterback Zachary Tomlinson went 14-for-19 and threw for over 200 yards against the Tigers, while senior running back Dallas Parent rushed for 298 yards in the same game.

• Panther quarterback Ricky Bautista went 14-for-20 against Redlands, throwing for 80 yards and rushing for six. Junior running back Joe Mudie rushed for over 100 yards to have his second 100-plus yard game of the season.

• Junior kicker Lucas Alfonso went two-for-two in field goal attempts last week with a long of 40 yards, scoring seven of the Panthers' 13 points.

• Senior Devin Ray led the team with 12 total tackles, including a sack for a loss of five yards against the Bulldogs. Ray ranks sixth in the conference with 41 total tackles and tops the SCIAC with 32 solo tackles this season.
