D3football tabs Deeb as First Team Preseason All-American

ORANGE, Calif. – Sophomore punter Elias Deeb was the only sophomore named to D3football.com's Preseason All-America First Team on Tuesday. Deeb earned All-America Honorable Mention following his freshman season.

Deeb averaged 41.9 yards per punt last year while opponents averaged just 6.4 yards per return. He broke Chapman's record with a 72-yard punt at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

He is one of just two sophomores to earn the preseason recognition but the only on the First Team. He was also named the First Team Preseason All-American punter by Lindy's earlier this summer. Deeb was not the only representative of the SCIAC as CMS' Victor Bunce was also named to the defensive First Team.

Chapman's season begins on Sep. 9 when the Panthers host Linfield at 7 p.m.
