The National Association of Basketball Coaches recognized three Panthers for their work in the classroom on their annual Honors Court list. Juniors Tyler Green, Rob Nelsen and Luke Selway all earned the academic honor.

The Chapman University men’s basketball has earned the Team Academic Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the association announced on Wednesday. Chapman was one of 213 team across all three Divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA to earn the distinction.

An impressive number of Chapman University student-athletes were again recognized for their work in the classroom. The Panthers placed 178 student-athletes on the SCIAC’s annual All-Academic team, the conference announced on Thursday.

Junior James Taylor earned All-SCIAC honors for the second year in a row. The conference released the All-SCIAC teams on Wednesday with Taylor representing Chapman on the Second Team.

The Chapman University men’s basketball team fell 60-49 to Occidental on Senior Night at the Hutton Sports Center. Seniors James Griffin and Josh Cohan combined for 14 points and 14 rebounds in their final game as Panthers.

The Chapman University men’s basketball team came out of a seesaw battle against visiting Caltech with a 64-54 win on Saturday. Sophomore Reed Nakakihara and junior Luke Selway combined for 21 second-half points to lead the late effort.

Men's basketball snaps skid behind big games from Taylor and Nakakihara

Junior James Taylor led the Chapman University men’s basketball team to a skid-snapping 70-59 win over Cal Lutheran on Saturday. Taylor lit up the scoreboard with 26 points as the Panthers (8-10, 3-6 SCIAC) led wire-to-wire in the win.

The Chapman University men’s basketball team fell 62-59 to Whittier College on Saturday night at the Hutton Sports Center. Freshman Drew Todd finished the game with a career-high 15 points for Chapman.

Trailing 69-68 with four seconds on the clock, senior Josh Cohan found the basket to lead the Chapman University men’s basketball team to a 70-69 victory over Redlands at the Hutton Sports Center. The Panthers overcame a 15-point deficit in the first half to earn the come-from-behind victory.

Five score in double figures to push men's basketball to win over La Verne

Sophomore Reed Nakakihara scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half to help the Chapman University men’s basketball pull away for an 81-68 win over La Verne. Five Panthers scored in double figures and Chapman (6-5, 1-1 SCIAC) held La Verne (7-4, 1-1 SCIAC) to just 37 percent shooting.
