White earns weekly defensive honor

ORANGE, Calif. – Sophomore Chandler White was honored as the SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Panthers to a blowout win over La Sierra last week. White is the Panther to win the weekly award this year.

The forward from Trabuco Canyon, Calif. pulled down a career-best 14 rebounds to complete a double-double in the win with eight of those coming on the defensive glass. He also came up with a team-best three steals.

White leads the Panthers and ranks fifth in the conference with 8.2 rebounds per game through the first five games of the season. He's also averaging over a steal per game.
