Haslam surpasses 1,000 career points in win over Caltech

ORANGE, Calif. – With his first five points tonight, junior Cam Haslam became the 20th member of Chapman men's basketball's 1,000 point club. He is just the 11th Panther to reach the milestone in Chapman's Division III history.

Haslam scored the first five points of the night for the Panthers with a three-pointer and a layup to reach the career benchmark. He went on to score 20 points and lead the Panthers to a 53-48 win over Caltech on the road.

The junior from Seattle, Wash. reached 1,000 points in just 53 games with a career scoring average over 19 points per game. He was the D3hoops.com National Rookie of the Year in 2015-16 before losing over a year and a half to injury.

The Panthers head to Redlands on Saturday and return home for their home game of the season on Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. against La Verne.
