ORANGE, Calif. – Blakeley Stoughton scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Chapman University men's basketball team to a 73-63 win over visiting Lewis & Clark. Four Panthers scored in double figures to snap a two-game slide.

Stoughton scored 26 points on the strength of 11-of-19 shooting. He also grabbed six rebounds and recorded a pair of assists. Jack Roggin pitched in 14 points and Cruz Billings scored 11 with each also contributing four assists. Jake Heberle scored 10 more points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Daniel Foldes had a solid all-around game with seven points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Chapman shot 43.3 percent for the game and was 17-for-19 from the line while Lewis & Clark was just 6-for-13.

The game went back-and-forth early on with the lead changing six times in the first half. The Panthers trailed 27-25 with three minutes to go and were struggling to find their rhythm offensively. Stoughton sparked an end-fo-the-half run with a three-pointer and an and-1 to give Chapman a 31-27 lead.

The Panthers continued to put points on the board as Heberle knocked down a three pointer, Billings swished a pair of free throws and Roggin dropped in a layup just before the clock hit zero. The 11-2 run resulted in a 38-29 halftime lead.

The run continued into the second half as Chapman went on an 11-4 run over the first five minutes to open up a 16 point lead – its largest of the game.

The Pioneers were able to slice down the lead to five with eight minutes to go but the Panthers responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away.

Brendan Patrick and Jack Henderson led Lewis & Clark with 19 points apiece.

Chapman returns to the Hutton Sports Center floor on Tuesday to take on UC Santa Cruz for a second time this season. The Panthers will look to avenge the early season loss at 2 p.m.
