Three Panthers tie for first-place in spring season opener

TUSTIN, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team kicked off its spring season on Monday afternoon with a combined score of 315 against SCIAC rival Whittier College at Tustin Ranch Golf Course.

Three Panthers finished with a score of 76, only four-above-par in the one-round match. Chapman seniors Giovanni Chiappano and Steven Meyer tied with Whittier athlete Clement Liou shooting 76 (+4).

Sophomore Bryan Wise maintained last season's average of 76.4 (+4) by finishing the round with a 76 par as well.

Rookie sophomore Kyle John finished the course tied with the Poets Justin Bennett recording a score of 80 (+8).

The Panthers will go on to face Cal Lutheran University on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the Tierra Rejada Golf Club.
