Wise leads men's golf in final Tri-Match
ORANGE, Calif. – In the last match before the SCIAC Championships, junior Bryan Wise shot one-under par to lead the Chapman University men's golf team in a tri-match with Cal Lutheran and Whittier. Wise was the co-medalist in the event with his fourth round of the year at even par or better.
On Chapman's home course of Tustin Ranch, Wise fired a 71 to tie with Whittier's Justin Bennett for medalist. Freshman and reigning SCIAC Athlete of the Week Griffin Tso turned in another solid card with a 75 (+3) to take third. Zach Gellens, Dallas Haun and Harrison Holetz all shot an eight-over 80 while Brady Lastinger fired an 83 (+11).
The Tri-Match was the final competition round before the Panthers head to the SCIAC Championships April 24-26 at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif. After the first two SCIAC major tournaments, Chapman sits in fifth place as a team but is just three strokes behind Occidental for fourth.
