Wise selected to All-SCIAC first team

Complete All-SCIAC Teams

ORANGE, Calif. – Junior Bryan Wise made Chapman history as the first men's golfer to earn All-SCIAC first team honors, the conference announced on Wednesday. Wise has led the Panthers squad in each of his three years on campus but is coming off his best season.

Wise is the second golfer to be honored on the All-SCIAC teams in Chapman history. Lyon Lazare was selected to the Second Team following the 2013 season, but Wise is the first to take First Team honors.

The senior from Granite Bay, Calif. averaged 74 strokes per round this year – the lowest average of his career. Of the 16 rounds he played, he finished at even par or better four times. His first and last rounds of the year both finished under par.

In the three SCIAC events this season, Wise averaged 75 strokes per round and finished in the top-10 in all three. He took second in SCIAC #1 and had the low round of 75 on the first day.

Wise finished the season as the 29th-ranked golfer in Division III. As a team, the Panthers took sixth in a competitive conference.
