Men’s golf opens up spring season with third place finish

LOS SERRANOS, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team competed against Whittier, Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental in the Poet Challenge this past Saturday. They placed third overall, shooting 19 over par on the weekend.

Juniors Dallas Haun and Griffin Tso finished the par 72 course tied for fourth place overall, finishing with scores of 74 (+2). Freshman Brody Hval was the next to finish, shooting seven over par and coming in 14th place. Just behind Hval were sophomore Ricky Hoefert and junior Harrison Holetz, who tied for 15th place with scores of 80 (+8). Rounding out the men's side was freshman Avery Keating, who finished tied for 20th place at 11 over par.

The Panthers take a quick break but head out to Ventura, Calif. on February 17 and 18 for their first SCIAC meet.
