Keating ends freshman season with All-SCIAC honors
ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Avery Keating ended a record-breaking freshman season with an All-SCIAC second team nod. He placed in the top-10 at two of the three SCIAC tournaments.
The freshman from Lake Oswego, Ore. Began and ended his season with a sub-par rounds on his way to a couple of school records. Keating began the fall season with a two-under par round and went four-under for the 36-hole tournament to break the Chapman record.
To wrap up the season, Keating showed improvement in each round of the SCIAC Tournament to climb into the top-10 with a 54-hole score of 220 (+4). He went two-under par in the final round to tie the current 54-hole school record.
Keating ranked third on the team with a 76.7 stroke average during his freshman year. He was the only Panther to have two top-10 finishes in SCIAC Tournaments this year.
The Panthers finished the 2017-18 season in fifth place in the SCIAC standings.
