Men’s golf finishes fall schedule at MCU Fall Invite

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team rounded out its fall schedule as it competed in the Marymount Fall Invitational in Palm Springs from Sunday, Oct. 21 – Tuesday, Oct. 23. The Panthers placed seventh with a team score of 877 (+13) while sophomore Avery Keating led the pack, tying for sixth place overall.

Keating shot a 73 (+1) in the first round, followed by a 74 (+2) in the second round. The sophomore then shot the lowest score of all competitors in the third round with a 67 (-5) to finish with a total score of 214 (-2).

Junior Ricky Hoefert tied for 14th place with an overall score of 218 (+2). Senior Griffin Tso shot a 79 (+7) in the first round but improved on days two and three, scoring a 71 (-1) in the second round and a 73 (+1) in the third round for a total overall score of 223 (+7) and a 28th-place finish.

Sophomore Brody Hval and junior Brent Bjorndahl rounded out the men's scoring, finishing 35th and 46th, respectively. Hval shot a 73 (+1) in the first round, followed by a 76 (+4) in the next two rounds for an overall score of 225 (+9). Bjorndahl improved his scores each day, shooting an 82 (+10) on the first day, followed by a 77 (+5) on the second day and a 73 (+1) on the final day of competition for a total score of 232 (+16).

The Panthers take a break this winter before picking up their regular schedule in the Spring of 2019.
