Men’s golf takes second place in Poet Classic

ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman Men's golf team placed second last Friday in the Poet Classic, shooting 313 (+29) as a team and finishing just one stroke back from La Verne. The Panthers competed against La Verne, Pomona-Pitzer, Whittier College, and Vanguard University.  

Senior Griffin Tso and sophomores Brody Hval and Avery Keating all tied for fourth place, shooting 78 (+7) in both the first and second rounds. Senior Dallas Haun was the fourth Panther to score, shooting a 79 (+8) in both rounds to tie for eighth place.

Junior Ricky Hoefert shot 80 (+9) in both rounds, placing 11th overall, followed by junior Brent Bjorndahl who scored a 180 (+38) after scoring 90 (+19) in both rounds.

The Panthers compete in their first SCIAC match this Saturday, February 23 at Los Serranos Golf Club.
