Men’s golf takes sixth at second SCIAC meet
ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team took sixth place this past weekend at the second SCIAC dual meet, shooting a 621 (+53) as a team over the course of two rounds. Sophomore Avery Keating led the squad, tying for eighth place overall after shooting a 152 (+10) on the par-72 course.
Keating sat in eighth place after his first-round score of 75 (+3) and stayed tied for the spot after shooting a 77 (+5) in the second round. Senior Griffin Tso finished just one stroke back with a final score of 153 (+11) to tie for 12th place overall. The veteran was also tied for eighth place after his first-round score of 75 (+3), but fell in the standings after shooting a 78 (+6) in the second round.
Junior Ricky Hoefert also shot a 75 (+3) in the first round to find himself in the top of the pack but added six strokes on the second round to tie for 19th overall with a two-round score of 156 (+14).
Senior Dallas Haun and junior Sian Rogers tied for 40th place overall with a total score of 168 (+26).
The Panthers return to the links for the SCIAC Championships held at Brookside Golf Club on April 18, 19 and 20.
