Tso in top-10 after second day of championships

PASADENA, Calif. – Senior Griffin Tso jumped up 14 spots on the second day of the SCIAC Championships to sit tied for ninth overall. The Panthers stayed in their fifth place spot after shooting a 308 (+20) this afternoon.

Tso shaved two strokes off his day one score to shoot one-over par today for a total score of 148 (+6). Sophomore Avery Keating also jumped up in the individual standings, moving nine spots up to tie for 14th overall. Keating, an All-SCIAC selection in his freshman year, was even heading into the back nine. He finished the back nine at 75(+3) for a two-day score of 150 (+8).

Junior Ricky Hoefert dropped to 18th place overall after hitting back-to-back triple bogies on the front nine. He recovered on the back nine, shooting three birdies to finish the second day of the championships at 82 (+10).

Sophomore Brody Hval fell 13 spots to finish day two at 82 (+10) with a total score of 156 (+14). Junior Sian Rogers is just one stroke back from Hval after shooting an 81 (+9) this afternoon. Senior Zach Gellens moved up four spot after shaving seven strokes off his day one score for a two-day score of 165 (+23).

The Panthers head back to Brookside Golf Course tomorrow, April 20 at 8 a.m. for the third and final day of the SCIAC Championships.
