Men's soccer back to winning ways with shutout victory over Soka

ORANGE, Calif. - After suffering just its second loss of the season to UC Santa Cruz, the Chapman University men's soccer team bounced back on Friday night with a 3-0 victory over Soka University of America at Wilson Field.

The Panthers scored each of its three goals in the first half, two of which came off the foot of senior F Matt Prouty who was assisted on the first goal by senior M Jeff Shah. Junior M Dalton Sweaney added a goal as well, his third of the season.

Soka University (2-8-1) held a 15-12 advantage in shots against the Panthers but failed to score against junior GK Jimmy Adranly who notched his first shutout of the season, also adding two saves. Tonight's game marked only the second time this season that Chapman (8-2-2) has won despite being out-shot for the game.

For Soka University, GK Tim Sasser notched four saves. With this just being just the second season for the Soka University men's soccer program, tonight's game marked the first time that the two teams have played.
