Duran named to Capital One Academic All-District soccer team

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University senior MF Chris Duran has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The senior has been a starter in all 18 games for Chapman, helping to guide the Panthers to an 11-4-3 overall record and current No. 5 West Region ranking. Duran is also among the team leaders with five points this season, including a two-goal performance against Fontbonne University (Mo.) in September.

Duran, an Anaheim, Calif. native, is an international business major with a 3.67 grade-point average over his four years at Chapman. It is his first Academic All-District honor.

The Capital One Academic All-America program honors male and female student-athletes in 12 sports annually. To be eligible, students must be varsity starters or key reserves, maintain a grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale, and hold at least a sophomore standing. Chapman is a member of District VIII, which includes Division III schools from throughout the Western United States.
