Three men's soccer players named All-West Region by NSCAA

ORANGE, Calif. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its All-West Region teams on Tuesday and Chapman University men's soccer players Mauricio Alfonso, Jimmy Adranly and Andy Stevenson all were selected. In 2010, Chapman also had three players named to the All-West Region team with Alfonso earning second team.

Alfonso has been named first-team All-Region in 2011, marking the first time a Chapman player has been named to the first team since Jason Hospedales did in 1997. The junior forward led the team in goals (12), assists (6), points (30) and game-winning goals (4). The Woodland Hills, Calif. native is currently third all-time in Chapman's Division III record books with eight game-winning goals.

In goal, Adranly led Chapman to a 10-4 record as a starter including five shutouts which earned him second-team All-West Region. The senior had 62 saves this season and limited opponents to a 1.17 goals-against average in 1,230 minutes played. Adranly's eight-career shutouts rank fifth all-time at Chapman.

Rounding out Chapman's All-West Region selections is Stevenson who was named to the third team as a defender. In his second season as a starter, the sophomore started 17 of the team's 19 games while logging 1,612 minutes and played an integral role in Chapman's defense which held opponents to 1.30 goals per game and seven shutouts. In two seasons, Stevenson has started in 35 of Chapman's 38 games.
