Fall athletes recognized on SCIAC All-Academic teams

Chapman University student-athletes were well-represented as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named its All-Academic teams by sport for the fall season. Leading the way for the Panthers was football, which garnered 15 honorees. In all, there were 49 Panthers recognized which ranked third among the nine SCIAC institutions.

Kimmel earns NSCAA All-Region honors for the first time

Chapman University junior M Boston Kimmel has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Far West Region team for the 2014 season. The three-time All-Conference selection was named Third Team All-Region for the first time in his career.

Four men's soccer players earn All-SCIAC honors

Chapman University sophomore M Marco Saglimbeni headlines a cast of four Panthers who have been named to the 2014 SCIAC All-Conference Men’s Soccer Team, as voted on by the coaches. Saglimbeni was named to the first team while senior D Josh Hale, junior M Boston Kimmel and sophomore D Connor Tobia each earned second team honors.

The No. 3-seeded Chapman University men’s soccer team fell to No. 2 seed and host Pomona-Pitzer Colleges 2-0 in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament semifinal on Thursday afternoon at Pomona-Pitzer Soccer Stadium.

Panthers clinch SCIAC Postseason Tournament berth on 'Senior Day'

The Chapman University men’s soccer team clinched a spot in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament for the second year in a row after defeating Occidental College 1-0 on Wednesday night at Wilson Field. The Panthers (9-4-2 SCIAC, 9-6-2 overall) are now tied with Pomona-Pitzer (9-4-2 SCIAC, 11-5-2 overall) for second-place in SCIAC with one match left in regular season play.

Slugs defense shuts down Panther offense 2-0

The Chapman University men’s soccer team lost their second non-conference game of the season 2-0 to UC Santa Cruz on Saturday at Wilson Field. The second-place Panthers are now 8-6-2 overall and 8-4-2 in SCIAC.

Men's soccer draws with first-place Sagehens

Every time the Chapman University men's soccer team made a statement on Monday night, first-place Pomona-Pitzer Colleges had a response. The result after 110 minutes and two overtime periods was a 2-2 tie at Wilson Field in a meeting between two of the top teams in the SCIAC standings.

Saglimbeni hat trick gives Panthers 3-1 victory

Sophomore F Marco Saglimbeni led the Chapman University men’s soccer team with a hat trick on Saturday to defeat Whittier College 3-1 at Wilson Field. This was the Panthers’ (7-5-1 overall, 7-4-1 SCIAC) second victory over the Poets (6-6-2 overall, 4-6-2 SCIAC) this season allowing them to keep sole possession of third place in conference standings.

The Chapman University men's soccer team earned their second victory over the Poets this season in a 3-1 victory over Whittier on Saturday Oct. 18 at Wilson Field. The Panther offense was led by sophomore F Marco Saglimbeni whose hat trick allowed the Panthers to keep sole possession of third place in SCIAC.

Four first-half goals and a tidal wave of offensive opportunities led to a lopsided 5-1 victory for the Chapman University men’s soccer team over visiting University of La Verne on Monday night at Wilson Field. The Panthers scored fast and often equaling their season-high with five goals and improving to 3-1-1 at home this season.

The Chapman University men’s soccer team fought into double overtime with Caltech to draw a 1-1 score for the Panthers and Beavers Saturday at Wilson Field. The Panthers move to 4-3-1 in SCIAC and 4-4-1 overall.

Cal Lu hands men's soccer its first SCIAC loss of the season

The Chapman University men’s soccer team dropped its first match in conference play to 2-1 Cal Lutheran University on Monday night at Wilson Field. The Kingsmen netted a late game-winning goal punched in by F Zack Larson in the 76th minute to give them the victory.

If the road to the SCIAC men’s soccer title was supposed to go through defending champs Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, then Chapman University drove a Mack Truck right through a stop sign on Saturday night. The first-place Panthers won their fourth in a row, handing the visiting Stags a 5-1 defeat at Wilson Field to remain unbeaten in conference play.

The Chapman University men’s soccer team kicked off its home opener with its third straight win in conference to defeat University of Redlands 1-0 Wednesday at Wilson Field. The Panthers’, now 3-0 in SCIAC, have won three straight and with Wednesday’s win the team is 3-1 overall.

Experienced roster leads men's soccer into 2014 opener

As the Chapman University men’s soccer team embarks on its season-long journey, the Panthers are hoping to shed the “underdog” label and become favorites in the SCIAC in 2014. Chapman opens the campaign at Concordia University on Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Irvine in a non-conference matchup between the cross-county rivals.
