7 p.m.

  • The No. 3 seed Chapman (14-4-2 overall, 10-4-2 SCIAC) travels to the No. 1 seed Redlands (15-5 overall, 12-4 SCIAC) in the championship of the SCIAC tournament on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at Farquhar Field.
  • Redlands defeated Claremont-M-S 2-0 at home to advance to the Championship match improving the Bulldogs home record to 10-2 at home this season. That was Redland's third straight win over the Stags this season.
  • Chapman, 6-2-1 on the road, blanked La Verne 2-0 on the road to advance to the Championship match. The win for the Panthers was the first time in four matches that the Panthers had defeated the Leopards, dating back to the 2015 SCIAC semifinals in which La Verne handed Chapman a 1-0 loss.
  • Chapman is 1-1 against Redlands this season. The Bulldogs defeated Chapman 1-0 in September at Farquhar Field and the Panthers defeated Chapman 2-1 at home in October. Senior Jake Sarmiento scored both goals for Chapman while the Redlands goals were scored by Chase Boone and Spencer Scott.
  • The Redlands offense has been dominant this season behind SCIAC leading scorer junior Chase Boone who has registered 15 goals and 34 points this season. The Bulldogs have scored at least five more goals than its SCIAC contenders, scoring 53 this season, Chapman ranks second with 48.
  • Defensively, Redlands is anchored by John Melito who has an impressive .844 saves percentage and has allowed just five goals over the season for an impressive 0.55 goals-against average. However, it is important to note that Chapman has scored two of those five goals against Melito.
  • History favors the Bulldog men's soccer team who secured its third-straight and 14th conference title last week. This Redlands third consecutive trip to the Tournament holding the top-seed.
  • The Chapman offense is led by senior Marco Saglimbeni who has scored eight goals including three game-winners this season. Saglimbeni has led the Panthers with goals scored for three consecutive season and continues to be an offensive threat when not scoring with four assists. Junior Zev Gollis leads the Panthers with six this season.
  • Over the month of October, the Panthers increased their number of shots per game by four (14 in September to 19 in October) and decrease their goals against average to less than 1 at 0.98, down from 1.17 in September.
  • The Panthers are getting hot at just the right time heading into tonight's match on an impressive five-game winning streak. Chapman is also the only team in the west region to have an above .500 record against nationally ranked teams after defeated both Redlands and Christopher-Newport this season.
