Record number of student-athletes achieve academic distinction

Chapman University student-athletes raised the bar with a record number of 220 SCIAC All-Academic selections for the 2017-18 school year. This year marks the first time in Chapman’s six-year history in the SCIAC that more than 200 Panthers were included on the All-Academic teams.

Braund earns All-West Region honors for second year

Senior Elliott Braund was honored for the second year in a row with a United Soccer Coaches Third Team recognition. Bruand was a staple in Chapman’s offense, helping the team to a third place finish and a SCIAC tournament berth for the fifth year in a row.

Men’s soccer falls in SCIAC semi-finals

November 01, 2017

The Chapman University men’s soccer team lost 3-1 to Cal Lutheran (12-4-2, 9-3-2 SCIAC) in the opening round of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament on Wednesday night. The Panthers (9-7-3, 9-4-1 SCIAC) worked hard to come back and tie the match on a goal from junior Kai Howe, but succumbed to the Kingsmen’s strong offense late in the match.

Four men’s soccer players receive All-SCIAC honors

Four members of the Chapman University men’s soccer team were named to the All-SCIAC Team on Tuesday. Headlining the selections were senior Elliott Braund and junior Kai Howe who were both named to the first team.

Men’s soccer wins 1-0 on senior night

The Chapman University men’s soccer team clinched a spot in the SCIAC Tournament tonight with a 1-0 senior night win over La Verne. Junior Kai Howe netted the sole goal of the match, sending the Panther seniors off on a high note.

Raymond nets game-winner in final minutes

The Chapman University men’s soccer team narrowly edged out the visiting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags 2-1 in the final minutes of today’s match. Freshman Charlie Raymond tapped the game-winner into the back of the net, leading the Panthers to victory all while recording his first career goal.

Howe named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Chapman University men’s soccer junior Kai Howe was named the SCIAC Athlete of the Week for his performance this past week. The Tokyo, Japan native helped the Panthers extend their win and shutout streak to four, scoring three goals in just two games.

Men’s and women’s soccer recognized for academic excellence

The Chapman University men’s and women’s soccer teams were both recognized today, Oct. 5, for their academic excellence as the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) announced its annual Team Academic Award Winners. Out of 816 total collegiate teams (283 men, 533 women) the Panthers were one of 197 schools that had both its men’s and women’s programs recognized.

Men’s soccer earns third consecutive win

The Chapman University men’s soccer team produced a 2-0 win this afternoon against Occidental. Senior Elliot Braund, the Panther’s leading goal scorer and the current SCIAC leading goal scorer, helped lift the team to victory, netting the second goal of the game and his seventh of the season.

The Chapman University men’s soccer team got its third shutout of the season tonight in its 6-0 win over Caltech. Senior Elliot Braund and sophomore Justo Garcia each netted a pair of goals to lift the Panthers over the Beavers.

The Chapman University men’s soccer team earned its third consecutive win with a 4-1 victory over Whittier tonight at Wilson Field. Senior Elliot Braund led the Panthers’ scoring with a pair of goals.

The Chapman University men's soccer team fired off 16 shots but was held off the board in a 2-0 loss to SCIAC foe Cal Lutheran on Saturday. Junior Kai Howe and sophomore Justo Garcia led the Panther attack with four shots each.

The Chapman University men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime draw against Pomona-Pitzer in its 2017 season home opener Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore Ryan Onart led the offense for the Panthers, scoring their only goal of the match.
