Men's soccer drops non-conference match to Colorado College

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's soccer fell 4-0 to visiting Colorado College on Sunday on Wilson Field. The Panthers (0-3-2) fell behind early and never recovered.

The first goal came just five minutes in for Colorado College as Robert Malone's long pass went through the back line and left Tim Huettel one on one with Gianluca Torgerson. Huettel capitalized for the 1-0 lead.

Just seven minutes later, the Tigers (2-1) scored again. Joel Frykholm added a goal later in the first half and scored the only goal of the second half.

Sophomore Akima Connelly saw his first action in goal as a Panther after a red card was issued, putting the Panthers down a man. He made five saves in his debut while allowing two goals.

Chapman jumps back into SCIAC play next week as the Panthers travel to La Verne for a SCIAC semifinal rematch with the Leopards on Wednesday. The Panthers return home on Sep. 20 for a 4 p.m. match with Whittier.
