Lightning forces men's soccer cancellation

ORANGE, Calif. – Lightning struck and then struck again and continued to strike. With the Chapman University men's soccer team leading 2-1 at halftime over UC Santa Cruz, the match was called off due to an extended lightning delay.

The delay lasted nearly an hour and a half before NCAA rules mandated the remainder of the match to be cancelled. The match was declared a no contest.

Chapman is on the road on Wednesday at Occidental but returns home on Oct. 20 to take on Caltech.
