Howe, Siemonsma earn All-Region honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Two members of the Chapman University men's soccer team earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors earlier today. Senior Kai Howe landed a spot on the Second Team while freshman Chandler Siemonsma garnered Third Team recognition.

Howe led the Panthers this year in goals and assists, scoring six goals and dishing out five assists in 19 games played. He started every match he played in this season, helping Chapman to its first ever SCIAC Tournament Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Tokyo, Japan native was clutch for the Panthers, scoring five game-winning goals for the side. This is Howe's first All-Region selection after earning two consecutive All-SCIAC First Team awards.

Siemonsma was a brick wall in goal for the Panthers this season, tying the single-season Chapman record of a 0.58 goals-against average. The rookie allowed just eight goals in over 1,200 minutes played. Siemonsma posted a .882 save percentage to lead the Panthers and rank second in the SCIAC. The Newport Beach native posted 15 saves throughout the postseason, including nine in the SCIAC Tournament to earn the distinction of Tournament MVP.
