Curtain falls on men's tennis after sixth-place finish

A lengthy and hard-fought win over Occidental College in the second round of the SCIAC Men’s Tennis Championships was the highlight for Chapman University as the Panthers placed sixth in the conference with a 1-2 record over the weekend. Chapman defeated the Tigers 5-4 on Friday night to advance to the fifth-place match where it ran into Redlands.

The Chapman University men's and women's tennis teams rounded out regular season play at the 114th Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament over the weekend with just one player reaching the Round of 16.

Men's tennis earns first SCIAC win 6-3 over Occidental

The Chapman University men's tennis team earned its first SCIAC victory of the year, defeating Occidental College 6-3 on Saturday at the Anaheim Hills Racquet Club. The victory puts Chapman (6-10 overall, 1-3 SCIAC) in a tie for fifth place in conference standings.

The Chapman University men’s tennis team won back-to-back matches for the first time since February, earning victories over visiting Lewis & Clark College (Ore.) and Pacific Lutheran University (Wash.) over the weekend at the Chapman Tennis Courts.

Unkind weekend for men's tennis, which drops a pair

The Chapman men's tennis team lost two matchups this weekend against No. 14 nationally-ranked Texas-Tyler 9-0 on Friday and then suffered a 6-3 loss to Trinity College (Conn.) on Sunday. The Panthers have now lost four of their past five dual matches, all coming on their home court.

Doubles sweep helps men's tennis snap skid

Welcoming in a host of non-conference opponents over the next two weeks, the Chapman University men’s tennis team got off the schneid on Wednesday with a 6-3 win over visiting University of Rochester (N.Y.) at the Chapman Tennis Courts. The win snapped the Panthers’ three-game losing streak after a tough 5-4 loss to Vassar College (N.Y.) on Monday.

After making a valiant comeback effort, the Chapman University men’s tennis team came up short, dropping a 5-4 decision to Brandeis University on Thursday at the Chapman Tennis Courts. The Panthers’ first loss came down to the wire as the Judges clinched the victory on the sixth and final individual match.

Chapman withstands Firestorm to improve to 2-0

It wasn’t easy, but the Chapman University men’s tennis team turned up on the right side of several close matches on its way to an 8-1 win over visiting Arizona Christian University on Sunday afternoon at the Chapman Tennis Courts. The win marks the first time since 2006 the Panthers have begun the season with back-to-back wins.

Men's tennis sweeps Biola to start spring

The Chapman University men’s tennis team opened up its 2014 spring campaign with a perfect outing resulting in a 9-0 win over visiting Biola University on Friday afternoon at the Chapman Tennis Courts. The Panthers set the tone early with three closely-contested wins in doubles and then knocked off the Eagles with a clean sweep in singles play.

Chapman University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams debuted with a promising showing at last weekend’s Division III Fall Regionals tournament at the Bizantz Family Tennis Center, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
