Both tennis teams, 15 individuals earn ITA academic honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Both Chapman University tennis teams and 15 individuals earned academic recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their work over the past school year. It is the second year in a row that both programs have been honored as All-Academic teams.

In order to earn the All-Academic team distinction, the ITA required a 3.2 team GPA or better for the last school year. The men's tennis team put together a 3.41 GPA while the women's team had the highest team GPA in the department with a 3.59 team GPA.

Individually, eight Panther men and seven Panther women earned Scholar-Athlete recognition from the ITA. The individual honor called for student-athletes to post a 3.5 GPA or better for the last year. Chapman's honorees included all three All-SCIAC selections in Brett Buford, Charlie Werman and Andrea Hammer, as well as Chapman's Cheverton Award winner Emily Frisch.
