Men's tennis falls 6-3 to nationally-ranked Trinity

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Senior Charlie Werman won both his singles and doubles matches but the Chapman University men's tennis team fell 6-3 to visiting Trinity (Conn.).

Werman and fellow senior Josh Sarsfield improved to 8-3 on the year with an 8-5 win in the top doubles match. Trinity took the remaining two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

All singles sets were decided in straight sets with Panthers winning two points at the bookends of the lineup. Werman won for the second match in a row with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1. Freshman Len Kamemoto improved to 3-1 on the season in the No. 6 spot in the lineup with a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Trinity was able to capture the points in the Nos. 2-5 matches to clinch the match.

Chapman is back on the court for a tennis doubleheader on Friday. Both the men's and women's teams take on Vassar at the Anaheim Tennis Center with the women starting at 11 a.m. and the men beginning at 7 p.m.
