Men's tennis drops SCIAC match to Pomona-Pitzer

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Freshman Len Kamemoto won for the sixth time this year but the Chapman University men's tennis team fell 8-1 to 11th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer. Kamemoto has rode his recent hot streak to a 6-5 record on the year.

Kamemoto played at No. 5 in the Chapman lineup, moving up from his normal No. 6 spot. He was able to pick up the 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) win to avoid the sweep for Chapman. It was his fifth win in the past six matches.

The Sagehens started the match with a sweep of the doubles matches to grab the early 3-0 lead. The match was quickly clinched with five straight set wins in the singles portion of the match.

Chapman returns to the courts next Friday to take on Whittier in another SCIAC dual match.
