Men's tennis falls to No. 13 Redlands
ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's tennis team fell to the 13th-ranked University of Redlands on Saturday, 7-2. The Panthers dropped their fourth consecutive match and fell to 0-5 in the SCIAC.
The Bulldogs came into the Lastinger Tennis Center short-handed and surrendered points to Chapman in the No. 3 doubles match and the No. 6 singles match. However, Redlands swept the seven matches that were played to clinch the team victory.
Both doubles matches went to the visitors as Redlands won the top doubles match 8-2 and claimed the 8-3 win on court No. 2. Sophomore Len Kamemoto traded games with his opponent but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-4.
Redlands won the remaining singles matches in straight sets to claim the team win.
Chapman will travel to Pomona-Pitzer next weekend before returning home to close out the SCIAC slate with a dual against Occidental on April 21 at 10 a.m.
